Guitar

Hello. My name is Ian Chisholm.

Welcome to my home page.

This is my first website so how about a cheer? No? 'Kay. Anyway, this site here is set up for people who want an introduction to how a guitar is played. I have been at it myself for a couple of years now, and I now consider myself not a bad player. I want to share my knowledge with you! Yes, you! Don't ya feel lucky? I only have some basic chords at the moment. Search this currently tiny site to your hearts content, and 'Rock On!' Oh, and if you want, you can check out another one of my hobbies. To see a bit of what else I do, click here.

Ok! let's get down to business. You see that image below this paragraph? You're to be able to create at least a decent sound from one of those after studying this site a bit. I'm not promising any awards, (heck, I'm most likely not going to win anything.) The basic chords are written below the guitar picture with instuctions on how to read them. For more information try here.

The following are the chords. Each chord is catergorized with letters and numbers on six lines like a guitar is. Don't feel overwhlmed. All chords are like this. You'll get the hang of it. The leftmost line is the lowest sounding string, and the rightmost line is the highest sounding string. Your fingers and thumb are numbered 1-4 for index to pinky. The top of the chart is the top of the neck. Each horizontal line represents a fret, those bars going across the neck of the guitar. Important! This is a right handers chart. If you're a lefty I don't remember what to do. Sorry about the incosistancy of size.
